MEGS Luncheon, Dec. 13: Scottie Gold Mine Project

Abstract: Exploration of the Scottie Gold Mine Project over the past 6 years has resulted in the discovery of high-grade gold in four new zones (Blueberry Contact Zone, Domino, D-Zone, P-Zone) and the expansion of previously drill confirmed targets (Scottie Gold Mine, C-Zone, Bend Vein, Stockwork). The apparent principal control on all the zones is the proximity with the Jurassic aged, Texas Creek Plutonic suite intrusion on the property.

MEGS Luncheon, Nov. 15: Deep MT Imaging to Drive Discovery

Abstract: The mineral systems approach broadens exploration by targeting the entire ore-forming system, including fluid sources and pathways. Magnetotellurics (MT) has gained traction for deep mineral exploration, especially after success at sites like Olympic Dam. This paper explores MT’s use from regional to local scales in various initiatives.

MEGS Luncheon, Oct. 11: High Grade Nickel Sulfide Discoveries in Saskatchewan

Abstract: Ian Fraser, P.Geo, is a seasoned exploration geologist with over 35 years of experience. Well known for his expertise in geological models and structural settings, Ian has been directly instrumental in the discovery of six gold deposits across North and South America, with three of these deposits advancing to production.

MEGS Luncheon, Mar. 15: Emerging Critical Metal Deposit Models in Northern Saskatchewan

Abstract: Searchlight Resources focuses on Northern Saskatchewan's mineral potential, with interests in Rare Earths, Uranium, Copper, Cobalt, Vanadium, Cesium, and Lithium. Pegmatite exploration reveals promising deposits, particularly at Kulyk Lake. Duddridge Lake shows potential for a significant deposit style.

MEGS Luncheon, Feb 9: The Bre-X fraud and its Repercussions

Abstract: The rise and fall of Bre-X – a Calgary-based company who owned allegedly the world’s largest, richest gold deposit, in Indonesia – is, without hyperbole, the biggest mining fraud in history. Yet, no charges were ever laid. The scandal led to numerous regulatory and licensing changes around the world. This talk describes the whole story.

MEGS Luncheon, Jan 12: Richard Boulay, B.SC.

Abstract: Multispectral satellite analysis unveils Earth's mineral secrets. Pixels, each a spectral blend, act like partial fingerprints matched to a spectral database. Geologists use this for economic prospecting, identifying high-abundance clusters. The presentation covers spectral analysis, free satellite imagery, and real-world projects, showcasing precise mineral identification for groundbreaking exploration.
