Abstract:

Kliyul Project

The Kliyul copper-gold project is located in the Quesnel Trough, between the past-producing Kemess mine and Mt. Milligan mine (Centerra Gold), in a similar geological environment to other copper-gold porphyry deposits in BC such as Kemess, Mt. Milligan, Red Chris and GT Gold’s Saddle North.

Over 60 km2 in size, Kliyul is a copper-gold project located 50 km southeast of the Kemess mine and close to existing infrastructure. Kliyul hosts four porphyry targets: Kliyul Main Zone (“KMZ”), Bap Ridge, Ginger-Shadow and M39. Each target represents an interpreted porphyry centre over an underexplored 4 km long mineralized trend.

The KMZ is the most intensely explored area, with 33 drill holes (5,524 m) drilled since 1974, most of which targeted a near-surface Cu-Au magnetite skarn zone. Deeper drilling in 2015 encountered a porphyry gold-copper system. Highlights from historic drilling are included below:

  • 0.23% Cu & 0.52 gpt Au over 218 m (KL-06-30)
  • 0.22% Cu & 0.53 gpt Au over 245 m (KJ-15-34) (incl. 0.39% Cu & 2.55 gpt Au over 20.4 m)
Porphyry copper mineralization at Kliyul typically comprises both veined and disseminated chalcopyrite with lesser amounts of bornite.

Pacific Ridge completed a maiden diamond drill program of 1544m at the project in 2021 and are currently awaiting drill results.
