The Calgary MEG, in cooperation with Margaux Resources Ltd., is presenting a 3-day field trip to the Bayonne Gold and Jersey Lead-Zinc deposits in the Nelson Mining District, Southeastern British Columbia.

Margaux Resources team of experienced geologists will guide this tour of the Bayonne Gold deposit, and a full day visit to the Jersey Lead-Zinc deposit including a tour of the underground development.

Located in the Kootenay Arc, the Bayonne deposit has past production of 81, 782 tonnes grading 16.0 g/t gold and 45.9 g/t silver at two main epithermal quartz veins. The Jersey mine has historic production of 8 million tonnes of Pb-Zn mineralization at a combined grade of 5.8% Pb+Zn.

September 14th, 2018:

  • 7: 00 am: departure from Calgary to Salmo, BC
  • 3:00 pm: Bayonne Gold deposit visit

September 15th, 2018. 8:00 am:

  • Jersey Pb-Zn deposit visit (full day with underground mine tour)

September 16th, 2018:

  • 10: 00 am: Departure from Salmo

Participants are required to have hiking boots for surface tour, safety boots for underground tour, and a hard hat. Bring your own PPE.

Participation fees: $335. This a break-even proposition for the Calgary MEG. We do not make any money on this field trip. It is offered strictly for the interest of our members and the professional development points.

Includes round-trip transportation from Calgary to Salmo, BC, accommodation, and bottled water.
